A nation that will move Heaven and Earth to express its love and fear of the Gods and prove its worthy to worship.These two very ancient and different sites of Delphi and Meteora have impressed upon me the commitment to faith whether it be pagan, Christian or Orthodox .The sheer scale of these monuments to faith ,their engineering and beauty ,the awe they inspire and the pilgrimages required of the faithful and the dedication to construction was overwhelming.
At both sites given their rural aspect it was possible to sit in peace and ponder,taking in the atmosphere and trying to imagine the journey.A mighty climb was required and being so high up the air was fresh crisp and clean,a nice antidote to the air in Athens.
